Stephen Stills wrote this song, part as a salute to soldiers, and part protest that young men and women were dying for a cause they probably didn’t understand, but for the supposed gains by greedy leaders. Freedom has always been paid for with lives. If freedom as a universally accepted ideal, no one would need to die to ensure others of their freedom. It is truly sad that history is constantly repeating itself without the lessons learned from it. The Ukraine conflict is a perfect example. “Do we find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground”. “When everyone is talking and no one is listening, how can we decide”. This is “Daylight Again/Find the Cost of Freedom”.
