“Summertime” by George Gershwin and DuBose Heyward. Written for Gershwin’s brand-new opera Porgy and Bess, it is a jazz-inspired lullaby. It is likely the most covered song in history, performed in many formats – jazz, disco, reggae. I’m playing my resonator box guitar, it just feels so right for this song.
