Many years ago, when my daughters were coming of age, I wrote a song to them called “You Grow Up Too Fast”. While life went on, the song got lost and despite my efforts I have not been able to find it. This song, written by Patrick Monahan and recorded by Train, has the sentiments that I tried to convey back then. In this topsy turvy world of electronic devices, social media, and television shows that portray children who know more than they should at their tender ages, we must stop to remember they are children, and they get to be children only once, so let’s not be in such a hurry, and let them enjoy their childhood. When we grow up, sometimes we wish for the simpler times of our youth, but we can’t get it back. So, “Don’t Grow Up So Fast”.
