This Carole King and Howard Greenfield gem was originally recorded by the Everly Brothers, whose brilliant harmonies gave it such richness! To cry is to be vulnerable. As such, many cultures interpret it as a sign of weakness, especially among men. The singer of this song is no exception. As the lyrics say outright, they have their pride and they know how to hide their sorrow and pain. To save their dignity, they wait for the weather to turn so that nobody can see their tears. People express their emotions differently, and so long as it doesn’t harm other people, there is nothing wrong with that. Somebody shouldn’t be shamed simply for crying or be told to suppress their emotions. In fact, it can be a very healthy outlet for strong feelings. Please enjoy “Crying In The Rain”.
