The recorded version of this song was not only a first take, but the first time Gordon Lightfoot and his band had played it together. They recorded several takes afterwards, but none was as good as the first. No one thought it would be a hit, but it turned out to be his second best selling single next to “Sundown”. This is a cover of “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”.

A classic and well done too!
You are so good doing Lightfoot covers.
You crushed it. I knew you would.
Love that song and that performance
Knew you’d finally get around to this one sooner or later 🙂
