John Loucks

“It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” was a posthumous hit for Buddy Holly and the Crickets, following Holly’s tragic death in a plane crash in early 1959. The song was written for Holly by Paul Anka and recorded by Holly in 1958 when Anka was only 17. After Holly’s death, Anka was quoted as saying “‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’ has a tragic irony about it now, but at least it will help look after Buddy Holly’s family. I’m giving my composer’s royalty to his widow – it’s the least I can do.”

  1. Nice work with the guitar John! 👏👏👏 And yes it was a Buddy Holly hit. Thanks for the background. Linda Ronstadt had a hit with it too.
