“We’re Going to Be Friends” is a song by the White Stripes (yes, Jack White). The song is about the innocent playful friendships made in the early days of school and about a young boy and girl who walk to school every day and have lots of adventures along the way. This song plays at the beginning of the 2004 movie Napoleon Dynamite. The film was a surprise hit and earned a great deal of exposure for the song. Jack Johnson covered this song for the soundtrack of the 2006 film Curious George. A portion of the song is also the opening theme to Conan Obrien’s podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.
