Jerry Jeff Walker was another singer/songwriter lost last year. This song secured his legacy, a ballad about an old street dancer he met in 1965 while in a New Orleans jail for public intoxication. He recorded it himself in 1968, but it was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s rendition that made it a Top 10 hit in 1971. This is a cover of “Mr Bojangles”.
