Michael Howitt

Jerry Jeff Walker was another singer/songwriter lost last year. This song secured his legacy, a ballad about an old street dancer he met in 1965 while in a New Orleans jail for public intoxication. He recorded it himself in 1968, but it was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s rendition that made it a Top 10 hit in 1971. This is a cover of “Mr Bojangles”.

  1. Sounds just right. I knew you’d crush it.
I so remember learning that song in Grade 9.
Thanks for the song and for the memory.

    1. Thanks Mike and Gail! Can’t play it finger style. Love to hear you two have a go at it!
