I was in a band a few years back that played at dinner/dances and such. We were playing “Four Strong Winds” one time and a bunch of people got up and started doing a line dance called “The Slosh”. So we figured we’d have to learn a real line dance song. We could have learned “Achy Breaky Heart”, but we chose this one-hit wonder instead from 1972. A cover of Daniel Boone’s “Beautiful Sunday”.

I did the same song in a band too, Michael. Playing in a band for dinner or event is totally different than playing solo. I have found if I don’t want the audiences falling asleep this kind of songs such as “Beautiful Sunday” have to be at least 80% of your list. Popular, lively, upbeat is a must!

Agreed! Thanks Alain!
Brings back memories listening to this on the radio. Well played Michael! 👏👏👏
