A request from our own Lamont Cranston aka Terry McMullen. This song was written by Orillia native Steve McEown, a documentary producer and, since 1978, one half of the musical duo “Even Steven” who have opened for such Canadian acts as Trooper, The Stampeders and The Good Brothers. This song was also covered by fellow Orillia native Gordon Lightfoot on his 1998 “A Painter Passing Through” album. A rendition of “I Used to Be a Country Singer”.
